"Tattered and Worn", captured by fine art aerial photographer Steve Brower, features the Helen Virginia in the foreground with the sunlight passing through her sails exposing an enormous patch in the shape of an 8-point star. Her sails are also adorned with smaller tears and holes throughout in such a way as they highlight the struggles that the Chesapeake Bay Skipjack fleet experiences every year as their numbers continue to dwindle. This shot preserves this moment in history.
